the Role
Are you a motivated, detail-orientated Town Planner looking for your next exciting opportunity? This is a fantastic chance to work on a variety of planning applications and development projects, while playing a key role in shaping the future of our growing practice.
In this role, you’ll be a trusted first point of contact for clients, guiding them through planning processes and helping them find the best solutions for their projects. It’s ideal for someone eager to take on responsibility, develop their skills, and progress toward Partnership in a welcoming, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Thrive in a small, multi-disciplinary practice where collaboration is key
Be the first friendly voice our clients hear when they need planning advice
Offer expert guidance on a wide range of planning and development proposals
Explain complex planning matters in a way that’s clear and approachable
Work independently, finding creative solutions when challenges arise
Prepare reports, statements, and planning documents with clarity and precision
Conduct desktop assessments and site visits when needed
Work alongside Heritage specialists, Barristers, and other professionals
Represent the practice at Planning Committees, Hearings, and Public Meetings
Stay up to date on planning policies and legislation
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Are a Chartered Member of the RTPI (or are working towards it);
Have a strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy;
Can communicate clearly and confidently — both verbal and written;
Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with ease;
Are proficient with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and planning tools;
Hold a valid UK driving licence and have your own vehicle
Bonus points if you have experience with:
CIL legislation, advertisement regulations, or footpath diversions
Judicial Review processes
Apple iMacs (not essential — we can show you the ropes!)

Competitive salary of £40,000 – £50,000, depending on experience
