About

This was another challenging scheme on a site within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where the existing dwelling had a relatively small floor area and the Client wished to achieve a replacement dwelling of close to twice the size. In this case we first obtained planning Permission for substantial extension to existing dwelling which then became a material consideration in negotiations for the replacement dwelling. The design took its lead from the name given to the original property "Beech Barn" which we found a little strange as the existing dwelling bore no resemblance to a barn whatsoever. However the resultant group of buildings now match the name perfectly.
